Dolomitenhof Tradition |
Tradition
The name of the Hotel itself is a reminder of the remarkable achievments of the pioneers of the alps at the turn of the 19th century and of the Sexten valley's greatest son, Sepp Innerkofler.
Together with Veit Innerkofler, he scaled the north face of the Kleine Zinne, thus opening up a classic route in the Sexten Dolomites. The local nicknamed Sepp "the climber" as a result of this climbing skill and his daring.
Even today, his descendents still bear this nickname. With over fifty first ascents to his credit, Sepp became Sexten's best known mountain guide. As tourism began to flourish in the alps, he built the Dolomitenhof in 1904, which has been run by the Innerkofler Family for generations.
